Commitment to Sustainability
Our mission is to ethically produce pastured poultry for both eggs and meat, with a strong emphasis on animal welfare. As a family-operated business since 1999, we take pride in providing our hens with an outdoor environment where they have continuous access to fresh air, ample space to roam, and clean water. We prioritize their well-being by allowing them to engage in natural behaviors such as dirt bathing and foraging on greens, vegetables, and fruits. Our commitment to sustainability is at the core of our operations, ensuring that our practices have minimal impact on the environment.
Our Farming Approach
Our farming approach is a pasture-raised system covering 8 acres of land with both pasture and fruit trees where they can roam and forage. The supplemental feed is a custom blend using non-gmo barley, minerals and vitamins, and oyster shells. We do not use corn or soy in our feed. The pasture is seeded with organic or non-gmo cover crop seeds, clover, and orchard grasses. We provide housing for hens that allows them to nest and roost comfortably out of the elements. Our sustainable practices avoid using hormones or antibiotics and we also incorporate composting to manage the manure from the housing, then re-apply it to the pasture.
